28/12/2010· I also recently changed the distributor o-ring (but did not reapply any RTV sealant to the valve cover gasket this time; there was sealant on there prior yet the leak was still present.) I am also fairly certain that the VTEC solenoid is not leaking either; there doesn''t appear to be any grime or oil around that area (one of the few clean places on my engine, ironically.)

3/8/2008· To get a true dry surface to get a bead on the leak, use red or green Brakleen, it will remove all dirt/oil/grease and give you the perfect platform to find the source. As said above, chuck that tab, it does look like it''s bottoming out on the intake before holding on to the distributor.
3/11/2009· Ehhh, I would not worry about the oil leak. As long as you keep an eye on the level, you will be fine. My 300TE leaks where the upper timing chain cover meets the lower timing chain cover. Its not too bad of a leak, but you can definitely see the oil leak there.
